Mandatory points for sponsorship
Under the points-based immigration system, to get your Skilled Worker Visa, you must be awarded 70 points in total, 20 of which mandatory points for sponsorship.
There are six requirements which must be met for you to be awarded the points for sponsorship.
The first requirement is that you must have a valid Certificate of Sponsorship for the job you are planning to do.
The second requirement is that your sponsor must be authorised by the Home Office to sponsor the job in question under the Skilled Worker route.
The third requirement is that your sponsor must be listed as A-rated on the Home Office’s register of licensed sponsors, unless you were last granted permission as a Skilled Worker and are applying to continue working for the same sponsor as in your last permission.
The fourth requirement is that your sponsor must have paid in full any required Immigration Skills Charge.
The fifth requirement is that the job you are being sponsored to do must be a genuine vacancy.
The sixth requirement is that the decision maker must not have reasonable grounds to believe the job you are being sponsored to do amounts to you actually working for a third-party, and not for your sponsor.
